17th May 2026, I went up to the Loton Park Speed Hillclimb event near Shrewsbury in Shropshire.
Run by the Hagley and District Light Car Club it is a short track hillclimb venue with a length of 1,349 metres (just under a mile) and a record time of 41.76 seconds to complete.

Attended by serious enthusiast drivers in a great array of different cars, it is also great for spectators with a lovely woodland walk along the track to the top of the hill and the finish line.
It has lots of parking and great facilities including food and souvenirs.
I started with a look around the paddock where drivers and mechanics prepare their cars and saw some stunning classics!

I then went on a trek to the top of the hill capturing the cars as they came up the track.

There was a large group of new and classic Porsche cars at this meeting, an amazing sight to behold!

Also climbing the hill were some very fast single seaters and a batch of ‘Sevens’.

Some great mad Minis too.

Not forgetting a bunch of more modern cars mixing it up with the classics.

I highly recommend spending a day at the hillclimb!
