28th July 2022, saw the start of the Commonwealth Games in the city, mostly held at an upgraded Alexander Stadium in the Perry Bar area of Sandwell. 17th July 2026, I went to the Shelsley Walsh Speed Hillclimb Classic Nostalgia event for day one of the two. Shelsley Walsh is the oldest still operating motorsport venue in the world, first used in 1905.
