14th October 2026, I was taking a walk around the beautiful Leasowes Park in Halesowen, Dudley, a place I had been to many times, and I discovered something new! The gorgeous Walled Garden.
The grade 2 listed garden is owned and managed by the Halesowen Abbey Trust with volunteers.
Please help the continued preservation of this amazing urban oasis by making a donation to their Just Giving fundraising page here:

It was erected in 1776, shortly after the death of poet William Shenstone, who designed the surrounding Leasowes Park, making it an early surviving example of a walled kitchen garden.

The garden has a beautiful landscaped area, flower and plant beds, an allotment for growing and an incredible orchard with a vast array of historic apple, pear and other fruit tree species.

There are also working bee hives, a small museum in the kitchen building, and a part-time cafe offering food and beverages.

Entry is free but access times may vary, please contact the Leasowes Park to check when a visit is possible: https://theleasowes.co.uk/contact-2/
