It is a short track of 1000 yards (914 metres), but with a significant elevation change over its length, 328 feet (100 m).

The hill record time is 22.37 seconds (Sean Gould, 2021) in a Gould GR59 4 litre Judd V8.

The track has a great paddock area and trackside spectator path to the top of the hill, with various seating areas and refreshments along the way. There is also a great cafe and plenty of toilets.

Even the car park is worth seeing with lots of modern and classic cars that people have brought along.

I started off by looking around the paddock and the amazing array of competitors cars.

There was even a Chaparral 2A, the only one in the uk!

There were lots of stalls selling motorsport merchandise, memorabilia and food.

My all-time favourite car, a Martini Racing Lancia Integrale, was about to run up the hill so I went up the trackside path to find a good spot for some photos of it.

Then came a batch of Nascars including an old-school Chevy.

There was an amazing collection of varied cars at the event, below are some of the highlights:

I walked up to the finish straight and almost got deafened by an E-type Jaguar!

I went back down to the paddock for the lunch break to get some more photos of the cars there.

As part of the nostalgia theme a World War Two Hurricane fighter plane made a few passes over the venue.

As part of the entertainment there was also a live band in the cafe area, with people dancing along.

After lunch I went to the start line to get some photos of cars launching up the hill.

I took another walk up the hill to get some more photos before leaving.

I highly recommend spending a day at the hillclimb!
