22nd October 2025, the ‘Waterbots’ event on the canal at Brindleyplace.

The collaboration of the Canal and River Trust and the creators BOM was hosted by Brindleyplace. The ‘Waterbots’, self-propelling robots that gently paddled themselves around the mainline canal, flashing coloured lights and puffing steam as they went, accompanied by ambient music.

It was a strange and enchanting sight, even mesmerising, drawing a large crowd to behold it!
