In August 2025 I went to North Wales to see the Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall and the surrounding woodlands.

It is an amazing place with one of the tallest waterfalls in Wales, a drop of 240ft (73m) in total. It has three stages with the largest being 130ft (40m) falling down to a shallow pool at the base. The falls continue in smaller drops through the rocks.

Around the waterfalls there are wonderful woodlands on both sides with rugged walking trails. The area was very lush and green in the late summer with fallen rocks covered in moss creating an ancient feeling vista.
