November 30th 2025, I visited the beautiful Wyre Forest near Kidderminster in Worcestershire with a friend for a photography trek. There are several walking trails around the amazing woodland, one of the rare remaining forest areas in England which used to cover most of the country, it felt ancient, looking much like it would have a thousand years ago.

We discovered wonderful wood carvings along the way including what looked like a freshly made one that reminded me of Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy films.

There is a visitor centre with a great cafe, a large car park, play areas and the Go Ape centre for fun in the trees, there was even a dog wash machine!

If you are visiting the West Midlands the Wyre Forest is well work a trip to, it’s obviously a popular place for dogs and there are cycle and running trails, even horse riding!
