1st October 2026, I visited the wonderful Bradgate Park in Leicestershire.

It is maintained by the Bradgate Park Trust charity, to find out more please visit their website: https://www.bradgatepark.org
The park is a wild deer sanctuary and I was able to get some great photos!

There is also a lovely folly called Old John Tower from which there are some fantastic views over Leicestershire.

Nearby there is the Yeomanry War Memorial atop a rocky outcrop.

At the centre of the park are the ruins of the 16th century Bradgate House, believed to be the birthplace of Lady Jane Grey, one of the wives of King Henry VIII.

While walking past the house I discovered some peacocks roaming around.

I was also lucky to catch a pair ‘kissing’.

I walked for several miles in the park, there are some really interesting spots to discover.

The park is free to enter and car parking is only £5 for the day. There are several cafes and places to sit and eat too.
