26th August 2026, I visited the East Sussex coastal old town of Rye.
I had a wonderful time walking around the streets and capturing photos of the diverse architecture.

I then went down to take a look the town harbour and visited the amazing Rye Heritage Centre.

I then walked up the medieval Mermaid Street and saw the Mermaid Inn, originally established in the 12th century, it was rebuilt in 1420 after the French burned down most of the town in the 14th century.

I stopped for a sandwich lunch at the lookout terrace on East Cliff followed by a look at the Landgate.

Following that I went down to the main harbour and took a look at the Rye Wildlife Reserve, having a nice refreshing drink at the cafe in the Rye Harbour Discovery Centre.
